Time to get consistent. Time to hold myself accountable for reaching new audiences. Time to really put the work in!
I've had an incredible time opening up GingerKnot and selling a small collection of handmade macramé items. BUT let's be honest... I'm not reaching any new audiences and as a result, my sales have taken a hit.
So, let me introduce: In The Making
My 9 week challenge that will push me out of my comfort zone, forcing me to create new things, deliver consistent content and drive sales... hopefully!
With a hat full of 9 different items written, folded and ready for plucking, I'll sift through and pick one at random. That will be my task of the week.
Simple, right?
My aim is to make something I've never tried before - that could be a new design, a unique pattern or even a brand new item that I've not yet attempted. And for my first challenge...
Week 1: In The Making 1.0 - A Keyring
I've made plenty of keyrings before so honestly I felt a little relief when I saw this. However, the real challenge was about how to make it different. I couldn't just make another DaisyChain (even though I love those). I had to think more outside the box.
Considering it's pretty much autumn and I was sat outside whilst I contemplated... I decided a new leaf design was the one.
And that was that. I kickstarted my first week of 'In the Making'.
What happens next then?
Well, I've got my leafy keyring design but I'm going to hone it a bit more so that it's worthy of GingerKnot. Then, it'll sit on the website in a brand new collection where by week 10 of this challenge, there will be a whole new set of items that you've watched me curate, ready for purchase!
That's the idea anyway... hope you enjoy following along!
